Marítimo did not go beyond the draw (1-1) this Tuesday against Belenenses, in the game that closed the 24th round of the I Football League.

Marítimo took the lead early, after 16 minutes, with a great goal from Euller. A shot from outside the area, with a beautiful effect, without any chance of defense for the Belenenses goalkeeper, a team that debuted a new coach on the bench, Mariano Barreto, who has already coached the red-green team.

Before, however, the Lisbon team had already made the warning, with a shot at the post by Chima Akas, in the 5th minute.

In the second half, however, the ‘blues of Restelo’ gained confidence and had the best opportunities to score. From warning to warning, Belenenses began to counterattack, with good combinations, surprising Fábio Pereira’s team.

Unsurprisingly, Belenenses equalized in the 71st minute, through Moha Keita, taking advantage of the opponent’s inattention, unable to get the ball out of the ‘critical zone’.

After 1-1 the game became even more ‘divided’, with Marítimo trying to regain the advantage, but with little discretion, against a Belenenses team always on the lookout for a counterattack.

With this draw, Marítimo is five points behind 3rd place, which is Nacional, a team that is currently in the play-off position. The red-greens are 10 points behind 2nd, AVS, and 11 behind leader Santa Clara
