In mid-August the museum is open. Or rather: during the Feriae Augusti (Augustus’ rest, hence Ferragosto) the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto will be regularly open and will welcome visitors with its cultural offer, both in presence (with Green pass) and on the web. It will be possible to visit the halls of the MarTa according to guided tours.
The initiatives of 14 and 15
Saturday 14 August, from 17, and Sunday 15, from 11, two itineraries will make you discover the secrets of the section dedicated to the famous Golds of Taranto, that of the Athletes and Warriors with the famous sarcophagus containing the human remains of the famous Athlete of Taranto, then there it will be the Roman section and also the one dedicated to prehistory (just to name a few). Guided tours must be booked through the e-ticketing service (www.shopmuseomarta.it) and will also allow access to the exhibition (ground floor) Taras and Vatl (archeology of Vetulonia in Taranto).
