Centenarian Maureen Celebrated After Peaceful Passing in County Roscommon

A life spanning a century came to a peaceful close on November 27th, 2025, with the passing of Maureen in the care of Drumderrig House Nursing Home in Boyle, County Roscommon, following a short illness. She was nearing her 100th birthday and leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories for her family and community.

Born and residing in Carnaskeagh, Tulsk, Castlerea, Maureen’s life was deeply rooted in the Roscommon landscape. She was predeceased by her husband, John, and also her sister Peggy, brother Pat, and sister-in-law Nora.Her passing marks the end of an era for those who knew and loved her.
Maureen’s life, though largely private, was one of quiet dedication to her family and community. Maureen is survived by her daughter,Christina Campbell,son-in-law William,and grandchildren Alan and stacy. The family circle also includes Stacy’s husband,Seán,along with numerous nieces,nephews,relatives,neighbours,and friends who will fondly remember her warmth and spirit. A family spokesperson stated, “Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.”
The cause of Maureen’s death was a short illness, though specific details have not been released. She passed away peacefully in Drumderrig House Nursing Home, surrounded by caring staff. Funeral arrangements Announced
Reposing will take place at Flanagan’s Funeral Home, Castleplunkett (Eircode F45 TK79) on Sunday, november 30th, 2025, from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm. following this, her remains will be removed to St. Eithne & Fidelma Church,Tulsk (Eircode F45 FR63).
The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 1st, 2025, at 11:00 am, with burial to follow in Tulsk Cemetery.
