Bayern need a win against Lazio to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Before the game, Max Eberl spoke about the situation – and his work areas.

But Tuchel wasn’t the only topic. Eberl was also asked about a possible successor after the end of the season. Eberl used to be a player on Säbener Straße himself. He came through the club’s youth teams and played for the club’s second team from 1992 to 1994. Now he has to take care of an ailing FC Bayern. However, Eberl emphasized that he would not make any hasty decisions regarding players.

“I’ll look at everything first,” said Eberl and also explained that he wants to “clarify contractual situations” in parallel with the current sporting business. The working papers of Thomas Müller and Joshua Kimmich end in June 2025.
