The mayor of Campo Grande, Adriane Lopes (PP), decided to withdraw from the City Council the Bill that she herself presented this week, imposing the good fiscal situation of the city hall as a condition for the payment of the minimum salary for teachers in the Municipal Education Network . The information was passed on during the women’s meeting that participated this Wednesday (27).

“It was taken off the agenda for a conversation with the Chamber’s Education Committee, because I think there was no understanding. Our technical team took the project there, but they need to sit down and explain it item by item,” she said.

Councilor Juari Lopes, “Professor Juari” (PSDB), spoke yesterday (26) about the proposal. He said that he would vote against if the initial text was maintained and said that the problem is not understanding but the content of the text.

“Understand we understand perfectly, point by point. But the project came with an article conditioning [o pagamento] to the municipality’s finances. I already had that, but [agora está sendo relacionada] a greater law, which is Complementary Law 101/2020, which [diz que] If the municipality doesn’t have its legs, it won’t pay”, explained the parliamentarian who is against this condition imposed by the city council.

Possible change – The Bill may be amended before returning to the Chamber, according to Adriane. Article that conditions payment of the minimum wage on compliance with the municipality’s prudential limit, related to civil servants’ payroll, will be reviewed.

“What may be changed is the article that guarantees us execution as soon as possible. [Está relacionado] to the barrier clause that we have been facing since we took over management, the prudential limit, which we have 10 years to reduce”, said the mayor.

As for what is being done to reduce personnel expenses to avoid conflicts with the law, Lopes stated that measures to increase revenue have been taken since she took office in April 2022.
