Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique spoke about his position regarding Kylian Mbappe, the team’s star, after the 3-1 win over Lille in the French League.
Enrique said in the press conference after the match: “It was natural for Mbappe to sit on the bench in order to rest him.”
The Spanish coach added: “If it had been a final match, I would have included him.”
Saint-Germain’s coach praised French winger Ousmane Dembélé, stressing that he is “one of the most consistent players at the level, and without a doubt one of the best signings this season.”
He continued: “The Lille match was complete, as it resembles the last match against Brest in the cup, and what also awaits us when we face Real Sociedad in the Champions League.”
Luis Enrique revealed that he put Brazilian Marquinhos on the bench because he complained of a bruise in the Brest match.
