Mediaset España has broken the relationship that united it with La Fábrica de la Tele, the production company responsible for programs such as ‘Sálvame’ or ‘Viajando con Chester’, directed by Adrián Madrid and Óscar Cornejo.

This was revealed last Thursday by Informalia, in a news item in which it recalled that the production company’s shares are divided into three parts: 34.9% for Peras Producciones Audiovisuales (Adrián Madrid), another 34.9% for Manzanas Producciones Audiovisuales (Óscar Cornejo) and 30.2% for Mediaset, through Mediterráneo.

By contract, La Fábrica de la Tele could only generate content at a national level for Mediaset networks, although they could produce formats for regional channels or for streaming platforms, as it has already done with spaces such as ‘Huellas de elephant’ and ‘Here there is strawberry tree’, on Telemadrid, or ‘Every man for himself!’ on Netflix, which will premiere on November 10.

Relations between Mediaset and the production company began to go awry with the docuseries ‘Rocío, tell the truth to stay alive’, which despite providing great audience data, polarized the public. The arrival of Alessandro Salem as CEO, in search of whiter television, led to the cancellation of ‘Sálvame’. Finally, the group commissioned the production company to create a program to compete with ‘El hormiguero’, but ‘Chinese Tales’ was a failure. With this breakup, three possible scenarios arise: the liquidation of the production company, Madrid and Cornejo buying the remaining 30.2% or, the most unlikely, Mediaset taking over the remaining 69.8%.
