French Ambassador to Bangladesh Marie Masdupui paid a courtesy call on Housing and Public Works Minister Ram Ubaidul Moktadir Chowdhury.
On Sunday (March 24), a meeting on bilateral issues between the two countries was held after meeting in the office of the Minister of Housing and Public Works at the Secretariat.
At this time, various aspects of mutual cooperation were discussed including climate change impact, greening of the construction sector, environmental protection.
At the end of the meeting, the French ambassador assured Bangladesh of cooperation in reducing carbon emissions and dealing with the impact of climate change.
It should be noted that on March 7-8 in Paris, France, the fourteenth representatives of 70 countries met at the “Building and Global Forum 2024”. The Bangladesh delegation led by the Minister of Housing and Public Works participated in the forum at the invitation of the French government.
The Declaration de Chaillot was adopted at the forum with 9 points of decisions to implement the decisions of the COP-28 conference, reduce carbon emissions and ensure environmental protection. In the light of the announcement, there was a detailed discussion in the meeting about mutual cooperation between the governments of France and Bangladesh.
