EFE.- The US Democratic senator Bob Menendez, accused by the federal prosecutor’s office of several crimes of corruption to favor the Egyptit was declared this Monday not guilty of the additional charge of having acted as agent foreign for that government.

Menendez69, previously declared not guilty of the charges of bribery and has refused to resign, so it was expected that he would not assume guilt in this new accusation either.
His wife Nadine, and one of the businessmen involved in the alleged bribery scheme, Wael Hana, already appeared before the judge last week and denied responsibilities related to the alleged actions of Menendez as an external agent for Egypt.
After the new accusation, the legislator of Cuban origin claimed to have been “loyal only to one country, the United States of America,” and claimed his “long history of defending human rights and democracy in Egypt and of challenging the leaders of that country, including the president El-Sisi in those matters.”

The bribes allegedly received by Menendez from at least 2018 to 2022 were: money cash, oropayment of a mortgagea job in which an almost nula for Nadine and a branded vehicle Mercedes-Benz.
