Hockey Faces Weekend Off Before CCHA Series

The Michigan Tech hockey team recently concluded a weekend series against St. Thomas, resulting in a 3-3 tie and a 2-1 loss at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. Stiven Sardarian led the Huskies’ offensive efforts, scoring twice on Friday. Reid Andresen and Kalem Parker also contributed goals for Michigan Tech. The team now has a break in competition before facing Ferris State in the final Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) series of 2025, scheduled for December 12-13.

Men’s Basketball Dominates in Home Opener, Prepares for GLIAC Play

The No. 12-ranked Michigan Tech men’s basketball team delivered a commanding performance in their home opener on Saturday, defeating Lakeland 92-56 at the SDC Gym. An impressive twelve Huskies contributed to the scoring effort, with Ty Fernholz leading the team with 16 points. Currently boasting a 6-1 record, the team will begin Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play with road games against Roosevelt on Thursday and Parkside on Saturday.

Women’s Basketball Faces Tough Competition, Begins GLIAC Schedule

The Michigan Tech women’s basketball team encountered challenges in a pair of non-conference road games, falling to No. 17 Concordia St-Paul 78-61 on Friday and to Winona State 78-54 on Saturday. Ella Mason (averaging 11.5 points) and Soraya Timms (averaging 10 points) were key contributors for the Huskies over the weekend. With a current record of 4-2, the team will also kick off GLIAC competition with contests at Roosevelt on Thursday and Parkside on Saturday.

Nordic Skiing Season Set to Begin
