Victoria Tolosa Paz criticized President Javier Milei’s perceived imitation of Julio Argentino Roca, questioning his policy choices.

  • Deputy Victoria Tolosa Paz accused President Javier Milei of not truly resembling Julio Argentino Roca.
  • She noted both leaders have utilized debt.
  • Paz suggested Milei should focus on infrastructure or national industry protection to emulate Roca’s developmental approach.

In a sharp critique delivered Wednesday afternoon, Deputy Victoria Tolosa Paz, representing Unión for the Homeland, questioned President Javier Milei’s claims of historical likeness. Speaking before the Parliamentary Commission on Energy and Fuels, Paz directly addressed Milei, stating, “Julio Argentino Roca does not resemble anything.”

Paz elaborated on her comparison during her address, highlighting Roca’s famous “Order, Administration and Peace” slogan and his administration’s key role in national infrastructure development. “Of course, they look quite a lot because they both took debt,” she remarked, pointing to a shared reliance on borrowing.

The deputy continued her pointed remarks, suggesting that if Milei truly wishes to emulate Roca, he should demonstrate tangible actions. “If he wants to resemble him, at least, Milei, designed some port infrastructure, road or iron, or some policy of protection of the national industry,” Paz concluded.
