Pathanamthitta: Error in Hoisting National Flag as part of Independence Day Celebrations in Pathanamthitta. The mistake occurred when Minister Veena George was hoisting the flag. The half-floated national flag was caught in the coiled rope. When the flag was not covered, the officials lowered the flag and rectified the error in tying the flag. Then the police officers hoisted the flag. Minister Veena George and District Collector Divya S. Iyer saluted the national flag.
In his Independence Day speech, the Minister said that it is condemnable that some people are trying to destroy the peace of the country even on the eve of Independence. Earlier, the minister accepted the guard of honour.

The chief minister said that it is with the support of these values shared by the renaissance values and freedom struggle movements that we are able to counter and eliminate the attempts of communal conflicts and polarisations. The Chief Minister added that the attitude of forgetting the basic reality will extinguish the dreams of those who fought for the country.

Independence Day was celebrated in a grand manner in the state. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan hoisted the national flag at Thiruvananthapuram Central Stadium. Chief Minister highlighted the importance of Kifbi in his Independence Day speech.
The necessary wealth should be made available for the development of the state. Efforts are being made to ensure development and equality by turning local bodies into local governments. The state government is giving priority to eradicating extreme poverty and homelessness.
