jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Ministry of Finance through the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) shows its commitment to carrying out the four main functions of DJBC, namely as trade facilitator, industrial assistance, community protector and revenue collector.

This reflects the government’s efforts to ensure trade policies run efficiently but still pay attention to industrial interests, community protection and state revenue collection.

Director of Communications and Service User Guidance, Nirwala Dwi Heryanto, said that in principle, every item from abroad that enters Indonesia will be designated as imported goods.

“This regulation aims to protect domestic industry and society from imported goods that are potentially dangerous,” said Nirwala.

Procedures related to the importation of consigned goods are also regulated in Minister of Finance regulation number PMK 96 of 2023.

“Based on these regulations, customs notification for imported goods is made on a self-assessment basis so that the importer is fully responsible for the notification of imported goods,” he said.

DJBC also stated that the number of procedures for importing consigned goods was still smaller compared to other sectors.

In January 2024, there were 449,519 consignment notes (CN), in February 2024 there was a decrease to 339,787 CN, in March 2024 there was an increase of 420,782 due to Eid al-Fitr approaching, while in April 2024 there were only 232,554 CN.
