The La Mirona room of Salt kick off the season this week with a strong bet for rock. The first MiroRock festival, which is held on Friday and Saturday, will give the start to a program that in the coming months will have Albert Pla, Vitalic, Julieta, Lágrimas de Sangre o Mishima.

With the MiroRock, La Mirona wants to claim a musical genre “always present in the programs of the hall, but which is completely forgotten in the background of the musical programs of most festivals and facilities in our country». With this idea, he proposes a double date with groups from different origins who will perform in the three stages of La Mirona.

Friday night will be one international night headed by the American guitarist and singer Jared James Nichols i Ben Poole, new British blues-rock star, in addition to the jumpy BigBlack Rhino. The next day it will be the turn of the veterans Burning i de Sexy Zebras with his Jaleo Toura tour that has already taken them to Cruïlla or Viña Rock. Los Tiki Phantoms and Silverflame complete the first meeting of the season.

The MiroRock starts an eclectic program designed for turn the room into “everyone’s home” and that “everyone can find their space there at some point of the year”, explains its director, Quim Marcé. “Our obsession is to reach all audiences. We owe it to the people who come to listen to live music, a fact that is already an act of militancy in itself,” he continues.

In this sense, the poster includes names as diverse as that of the Empordanese Cala Vento (December 22), which in the festival Neu! will present their latest work, Beautiful house; Tears of blood (November 25th); Reggae for Kids for the little ones (October 7) or the French DJ and producer Vitalicwhich will be there on October 6 with Temporada Alta, a festival that will also bring Albert Pla’s new show to Salt on November 11.

“We always thought that Cala Vento’s music could reach more people”

There is also planned a metal night on October 20 with Girona’s Morphium, after recently passing through the Main Stage of Resurrection Fest or the European tour with the Americans Ill Niño; Erio and Head Injury. The forceful sounds will continue with Girona’s Hard Buds (December 1) and Angelus Apatrida (January 19).
