BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is going to Singapore again for treatment. He will leave for his wife Singapore next Monday (March 4). He will return home on March 18 after treatment.

This information was revealed by BNP party sources on Sunday (March 3).

After three and a half months in prison, Mirza Fakhrul was released on bail on February 15. Then Fakhrul went to Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in Shyamoli on February 17 for a physical check-up. He has been receiving treatment at home since then on the doctor’s advice.

The BNP general secretary has not been active in politics since his release from prison. Although he did not participate in any political program, Fakhrul had a meeting with Afrin Akhtar, the US Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for South and Central Asian Affairs, who was visiting at a hotel in Gulshan on February 24.

Besides, sometimes he sits in the political office of the BNP Chairperson in Gulshan. On Saturday (March 2), the BNP Secretary General had an exchange of views with the leaders of the two allies of the joint movement, the Democracy Forum and the 12-party alliance. But the alliance leaders call it a courtesy call.

It is known that Mirza Fakhrul can be fully active in politics after returning home after treatment in Singapore.
