Reference tax income has been increased, helping 50% of the poorest French people.

While assistance for the purchase of bicycles has been extended until the end of 2023, the government is announcing a strengthening of this measure. “The eligibility thresholds will be raised, from January 1, 2023, to cover 50% of the poorest households“, indicates the executive in a press release published on Tuesday.

In detail, to be eligible, the tax income per unit must be less than 14,089 euros, against 13,489 euros currently. Eligible French people will thus be able to benefit from a maximum bonus of 300 euros for the purchase of an electric bicycle. The aid may rise to 400 euros for people with disabilities and those whose reference tax income per share is less than or equal to 6358 euros, against 6300 euros currently. The latter are also entitled to higher aid to buy a cargo bike, a folding bike or an electric bike trailer with a maximum bonus of 2000 euros.
