More than 700 people attend the presentation in Sant Hilari Sacalm of the show “A frec d’aigua”

More than 700 people attended on Sunday the presentation of“To rub with water“a ode dedicated to this vital and characteristic element from the Selva region. In the show, which premiered in the sports hall of Saint Hilary Sacalmmore than 200 people, between musicians and choirs from Malgrat de Mar, Osona, Arbúcies and Sant Hilari. The show is directed by Xavier Garriga, with music by Antoni Miralpeix and lyrics by Francis Danés

The show represents the entire cycle of water, from its beginning in the mountains to its mouth in the Mediterranean. So, it wants to be a song for all the manifestations of water and represents an adaptation of the cantata “La Selva, l’aigua”. It is a symphonic-choral work for orchestra (strings, wind, percussion, electronics) and mixed corals. The first version is originally written it’s been 20 years now and now it’s been updated.

The director, Xavier Garriga, has highlighted the particularity of this performance for several aspects, such as the participation of choirs from Osona, Malgrat de Mar, Arbúcies and Sant Hilari in different voices: children, young people and adults in the male and female modes. Thus, they participate Choir Petits Cantairesthe Sol Key Choir, directed by Dolors Vidal, Youth Choir and Adults Counterpoint, directed by Maria Carretero, la Coral Sibemoll directed by Núria Robert, the Cor d’Homes d’Osona, the Choral l’Arpa, directed by Pere Mateu Xiberta, and the Choir Joyful voices. The rhapsode is Maira Comalat and the dance will be provided by Iris Ceballos.

On a musical level, it is noteworthy that classical instruments have been combined with elements of modern music to achieve the performance.
