Russia has taken control of the Russian subsidiary from the french yoghurt maker Danoneas well as the participation of the company Carlsberg at a local brewery, according to a decree signed by the president Vladimir Putin this Sunday.

The decree states that foreign-owned shares in Danone Russia y Baltika Breweries were under the “temporary administration“government owned agency Rosimushchestvo.

The move comes after the Russian subsidiaries of Germany’s Uniper and Finland’s Fortum came under state control in April. The Kremlin warned at the time that it could seize further western assets on what he said was a temporary base in reprisal for the foreign movements against the russian companies abroad.

Danone said last October that it was looking for a buyer for your food business dairy products in Russia, in a deal that could lead to a cancellation of up to 1 billion euros (1.12 billion dollars).
