Thiruvananthapuram: The trade union joint committee said that the vehicles will not run as the workers in the motor sector are on strike during the general strike to be held on March 28 and 29. The strike will last from 6 am on March 28 to 6 am on March 30. At the center, about 20 unions, except BMS, will be part of the strike, the joint committee said in a statement.

Employees of trade and commerce companies will also join the strike. The strike will be attended by farmers ‘unions, farmers’ unions, central and state service organizations, teachers ‘unions, BSNL, LIC, bank employees’ unions and port workers. The unions said in a statement that the strike was a signal of a formal antitrust inquiry into the situation. In Kerala, 22 unions are participating in the strike. Essential services such as hospitals, ambulances, pharmacies, milk, newspapers and fire and rescue have been excluded from the strike.

Withdrawal of anti-labor labor codes, repeal of the Essential Defense Services Act, prompt adoption of the Farmers’ Six demands, declaration of support prices for agricultural produce, suspension of public sector privatization and sale of national property, increase of Rs.
