The President of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muftin, affirmed his support for the work of the Iraqi Sailing and Water Sports Federation. This came during his visit to the headquarters of the Sailing and Water Sports Federation to examine the general scene of the game, point out the most prominent dilemmas that obstruct the work of its administration, and follow up on the requirements for its success.

A statement by the Olympic Committee received by the (INA) stated that “Muftin listened to a brief presentation presented by the President of the Federation, Tahseen Ali, in which he addressed a number of obstacles presented by the infrastructure of a specialized Olympic water game that requires specific types of boats and supporting tools, and for more than one event.” .
He added: “The President of the Olympic Committee promised to support the work of the Federation’s Board of Directors and follow up on the requirements for its success, calling for expanding the rules for windsurfing practitioners, embracing young athletes, and refining the talented ones.”
He continued, “This visit comes in the context of a direct field approach to the work of the administrations of the national sports federations, identifying the details of their dilemmas, and discussing them directly with those concerned with them in order to draw a clear picture with the Executive Office of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee.”
