Ouagadougou municipal police
In application of the regulations relating to the protection of school grounds, the Directorate of the Police of Sanitation and Urban Tranquility (DPSTU) carried out, on Wednesday October 25, 2023, an operation to control the installations (kiosks, shops, outlets drinks…) marketing alcoholic drinks in districts 1, 3, 5 and 10 of the city of Ouagadougou.

Indeed, Law 09-79/AN of June 7, 1979 governing drinking establishments in Upper Volta and Decree No. 2016-926 protecting the school domain in Burkina Faso prohibit all activities likely to harm health. , to moral integrity or to negatively influence the psychological development of learners.
This mission consisted of controlling businesses and other facilities located less than 400m from educational establishments, seizing alcoholic beverages and raising awareness among the various owners.
Alcoholic drinks seized by municipal police
During this operation, approximately three hundred (300) cans of alcoholic drinks, around ten cartons of adulterated drinks and around twenty bottles of liqueurs were seized. The Municipal Police invite developers to respect the regulations relating to the protection of school grounds.
