The CPIM state secretariat said that the murder of S. Shahjahan, a member of the CPIM Marutharod local committee and secretary of the Kunnangad branch, was planned. This is a move by anti-social forces to make Kerala a land of riots. In a statement issued by the CPIM State Secretariat, it was also demanded to find those who conspired in the incident (Murder Planned: CPIM State Secretariat).
This is a move to turn a peaceful area into a riot zone. Strong action should be taken against such incidents and the conspirators should be found. CPIM workers should not get agitated. Such criminal gangs should be isolated by mobilizing masses against murder. Shah Jahan’s murder is reprehensible and extremely barbaric. The incident took place at Kunnangad Junction on Sunday at half past nine. A group of five members committed the murder. Shah Jahan was cut in the leg and back of the head. He was rushed to the district hospital but his life could not be saved. The attack took place when he was standing at Kunnangad Junction to return home after completing preparations for the Independence Day celebrations. After cutting, the five ran away.
Shah Jahan was taken to the hospital by Suresh and his friends. The dead body in the district hospital Morcha. An autopsy will be conducted today. Hartal will be observed in Marutharod panchayat today. It is indicated that there was a dispute the previous day regarding the installation of a flux board in the area and this led to the murder.
