New Delhi: The government has become strict on the continuous bomb threats targeting Indian airlines companies. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has advised ‘all organs of the government’ to unite in this matter and take necessary steps. According to sources, the government is taking fake bomb threat messages and calls ‘seriously’. It is learned that the Central Government has been successful in detecting many threatening messages and action is also being taken in these cases.

When flights were threatened, PM Modi gave special advice

Taking seriously the bomb threat messages being received by flights, Prime Minister Modi has advised the entire government to take necessary action. Earlier, the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology reprimanded social media sites Meta and X, through which most of the rumors were spread. On Tuesday, a virtual meeting was held involving several airline officials and various social media platforms regarding the bomb threats.

Central government in continuous action

According to sources, Air India and Vistara participated in the meeting chaired by Joint Secretary Sanket S Bhondve. Hours after this meeting, on Wednesday, the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology took the social media platform to task. This is because fake messages were being spread using this platform. However, despite action from the government, bomb threats targeting major Indian airline companies continued on Thursday.

85 flights threatened in last 24 hours

More than 85 flights were threatened within the last 24 hours. According to the latest data, these threats include 20 flights of Air India, 20 of Indigo, 20 of Vistara and 25 of Akasa Air. In less than a week, more than 170 flights operated by Indian airlines have received bomb threats. The central government is planning to take sweeping action to deal with bomb threats being made to airlines. This also includes putting such criminals on the no-fly list.
