LOS ANGELES, March 21, 2024 (Xinhua) — NASA and SpaceX launched the 30th commercial resupply services mission to the International Space Station on Thursday.

SpaceX’s Dragon capsule was launched at 4:55 pm Eastern time on Thursday from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in the US state of Florida.

Dragon is scheduled to deliver more than 6,000 pounds of scientific research, supplies and equipment to the orbiting laboratory. Among those supplies are student-developed sea-ice-tracking satellites called Astrobi, and BurstCube gamma-ray detectors, according to NASA.

The spacecraft is expected to spend about a month attached to the orbital outpost before returning to Earth with research and goods off the coast of Florida, according to NASA.
