Today NASA will launch the Lucy space probe to Jupiter, with the help of which they plan to study Trojan asteroids. Their age may be several billion years. This is reported by Science alert.
Lucy’s space mission is expected to last 12 years. Only by 2027 will the probe reach the first asteroids orbiting Jupiter.
Scientists are confident that Trojan asteroids are a kind of “time capsule”, the study of which can provide answers to many questions about the origin of planets and the origin of life on Earth.
