A 69-year-old woman threw four puppies in a garbage can in Nea Ionia.
A resident of the area heard the cries of the newborn puppies and informed an animal shelter who took the newborns in to take care of them. One of the four piglets did not make it and died after a few days.

According to ERT, the same resident who found the dogs in the bin reported the incident to the local Police Department. Police officers, using the visual material from security cameras, identified the 69-year-old woman, who confessed that she threw the puppies in the garbage because she could not take care of them.
Administrative fine of 120,000 euros to the 69-year-old
A criminal case was filed against the 69-year-old and an administrative fine of 120,000 euros was imposed on her. The case file was assigned by the Prosecutor’s Office to a competent Investigator.
