Nebraska Women’s Gymnastics Unveils Ambitious 2026 Competition Schedule

The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team has announced its schedule for the 2026 season, featuring a blend of home and away competitions designed to challenge and prepare the team for postseason success. The schedule, released on Wednesday, Oct. 22, includes 11 meets, with four taking place at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln.
Season Opener and Early Challenges
The Huskers will kick off their 2026 campaign with a home meet on Saturday, Jan. 10, hosting the Ameritas Masters Classic at 3 p.m. (CT). This event will welcome Missouri, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and University of Wisconsin-Stout to Lincoln, providing an early test for the team.
Nebraska’s first foray into Big Ten competition will be an away meet against UCLA in Los Angeles on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 5 p.m. (CT). The team will then return home to host Minnesota on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 3 p.m. (CT), followed by another home contest against Ohio State the following week on Saturday, Jan. 31, also at 3 p.m. (CT).
Road Swing and Conference Competition
February will see a mix of home and away competitions for the Big Red. A road competition against Iowa in Iowa City on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 6 p.m. (CT) will be followed by a return to the Bob Devaney Sports Center for a meet against Illinois on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. (CT).
The team will then embark on a two-meet road trip, starting with a contest at Maryland on Friday, Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m. (CT). This will be followed by the Big Fours meet in State College, Pa., on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 5 p.m. (CT), where Nebraska will compete against Penn State, Michigan, and Washington.
Finishing Strong and New Talent
Nebraska will conclude its regular season with two more road competitions, facing TWU in Denton, Texas, on Friday, March 6, at 7 p.m. (CT), and North Carolina on Friday, March 13, at 5:45 p.m. (CT). The North Carolina meet will also feature Penn State.
The team boasts a strong core of 13 returnees, including Whitney Jencks, a Second-Team All-Big Ten member. Adding to the team’s depth, seven freshmen will join the roster: Ahnna Kalmes, Warrior Griffin, Hailee Bowen, Merideth Brandt, Aubrey Gilliland, Peyton Pech, and Tegan Shaver.
