jpnn.comJAKARTA – Populi Center political observer and senior researcher Usep Saepul Ahyar responded to survey results from LSI Denny JA which stated that the majority of the public, 75.8 percent, supported the government coalition of presidential and vice-presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka having a semi-permanent coalition at least for 20 years, namely 2024-2045.

According to Usep, a semi-permanent coalition is needed to continue the government’s strategic policies in order to encourage and realize Indonesia’s blueprint to become a developed country or welcome a Golden Indonesia 2045.

“The survey is a public perception which I think is also based perhaps on the idea that the semi-permanent coalition is for program continuity or continuity in carrying out strategic matters or for strategic management matters until 2024, so that it does not disassemble,” said Usep, Monday ( 3/25/2024).

Usep conveyed that the government’s habit of changing top government leaders is that they will also change the policies taken so that development does not run sustainably.

“Our habit is that when we change positions, change officials and then change, there is no continuity in development, even though what is called development or when building civilization or infrastructure, I think continuity is needed,” he said.

Usep gave the example that the program to move the national capital (IKN) cannot be carried out in a period of only 5 years.

However, it must also be carried out consistently even though IKN has become a statutory mandate.

He said that IKN would have the potential to stop if the succeeding government did not prioritize it, citing budget limitations so that it would prioritize other policies.

The majority of the public, 75.8 percent, supports the coalition government of the elected presidential and vice-presidential candidates Prabowo – Gibran to have a semi-permanent coalition.
