Neeraj Chopra won gold in the javelin throw at 87.58 m at the Tokyo Olympics. This made Neeraj Chopra the second Indian to win an individual gold medal at the Olympics.

He had earlier set a national record of 88.07 meters in javelin throw in March last year in Patiala. He broke the old record and set a new national record by competing in Finland. It is noteworthy that Neeraj Chopra is currently competing in Finland after the Tokyo Olympics.
