The janitor and contractor arrested in connection with the death of 3 students at Nellai Softer School have been remanded in judicial custody.
Seven students were trapped in the rubble when the front wall of the school toilet building collapsed during a break at Tirunelveli Softer High School at 11am yesterday. Of these, 3 students died tragically. The remaining 4 injured students are being treated at the Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital. They are being treated specially. Three people were arrested yesterday in connection with the crash, including Softer School governor Solomon Selvaraj, headmaster Gnanaselvi and contractor John Kennedy.
The judge remanded in custody Solomon Selvaraj and contractor John Kennedy for 15 days. The arrested headmaster Gnana Selvi has been admitted to the hospital due to ill health.
