Nelson Dilipkumar’s Jailer, starring Superstar Rajinikanth, continues to dominate the box office with its impressive performance. Despite facing tough competition, the film remains determined to maintain its success.

After earning a staggering Rs 150 crore in its debut weekend, Jailer managed to generate an estimated Rs 28 crore on its fifth day of release, indicating a stable upward trajectory. Industry tracker Sacnilk predicts that the film’s global box office revenue will cross the Rs 350-crore mark on Independence Day.

The movie’s net earnings in India on Monday surpassed those from its opening day, showcasing its consistent growth. Sacnilk forecasts that Jailer is expected to achieve domestic earnings of approximately Rs 38 crore on Tuesday, benefiting from the Independence Day holiday.

The action-packed entertainer also garnered significant attention in the international market. It made $180K in the US on August 14, and according to analyst group Aakashavaani, it collected an estimated sum of Rs 33.45 crore from the US in its opening weekend. Additionally, the film performed well in various regions, including the UAE, Gulf Cooperation Council nations, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, Europe, Sri Lanka, and other territories.

Jailer’s success at the box office is only rivaled by Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, which has already secured Rs 173.88 crore domestically. On Independence Day, Gadar 2 is expected to achieve a Rs 55-crore turnover, contributing to its cumulative India nett earnings of Rs 228.88 crore.

The film’s success garnered praise and congratulations from industry peers. Kamal Haasan spoke to Rajinikanth and Nelson, commending them on Jailer’s performance and acceptance by the audience. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth himself was in the Himalayas, visiting Badrinath and other locations.

The release of Jailer, along with Gadar 2, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, and Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar, contributed to a record-breaking weekend at the box office. The Multiplex Association of India and the Producers Guild of India reported 2.10 crore admissions during the August 11-13 weekend, the highest in the last 10 years. Collectively, these films earned a whopping Rs 390 crore during this period.

Jailer tells the story of a man seeking revenge for the death of his cop son. The film features notable cameos from Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, and Jackie Shroff. It also stars Priyanka Mohan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, and Vinayakan.
