Netanyahu called on his fans to come to the demonstration; He himself breezed

Several thousand right-wingers came tonight (Thursday) to a demonstration in the square in front of the Habima building in Tel Aviv, demanding the establishment of a commission of inquiry into the Pegasus affair. There are mainly Likud members, Knesset members of the party and heads of right-wing organizations. The person who was also absent from this demonstration was Likud chairman and opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu, who only yesterday called on all right-wing voters to attend the demonstration.

“For reasons I can not detail, I can not be with you tonight, but I am with you in heart and soul,” and then a video of him was shown at the rally.

Netanyahu has not been prime minister for eight months, and has not yet appeared in any demonstration, rally or protest vigil organized by the right, despite the fact that the information system around him has issued calls for support for the demonstrations.

As prime minister, he of course did not participate in the demonstrations, except for one, a few days before the 2015 elections, when he arrived at the right-wing central election rally in Rabin Square, which started Bennett’s “drinking” of votes. But since then, he has not been seen in a right-wing demonstration, even after leaving the prime minister’s office last June.

It should be noted that as head of the opposition, during Rabin’s government, Netanyahu participated in the main demonstrations of the right, and also as head of the opposition during Olmert’s government, he knew how to go out and take part in right-wing events. Now, however, he has consistently refrained from participating in right-wing demonstrations, and even a simple event, such as going out to a crossroads, at a right-wing demonstration several weeks ago he did not take part.
