After being canceled by Netflix after two seasons, the beloved series “Warrior Nun” is making a comeback. Thanks to the overwhelming support from fans, the show will be returning as a trilogy of movies.

Executive Producer Dean English announced the exciting news on social media, revealing that Netflix has picked up three films based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn. In a statement posted on a website dedicated to saving “Warrior Nun,” English expressed his gratitude to the loyal fans for their continued support. He said, “It’s because of you and your incredible energy that we keep pushing forward to make these stories. You guys really make it all worthwhile.”

English further added, “I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures. Once again, a trilogy of feature films. Three.” However, he acknowledged the strikes in Hollywood involving actors and writers, and he was limited in what he could reveal about the films.

Fans couldn’t help but speculate whether the trilogy of movies would lead to a larger Warrior Nun universe. English addressed this in his statement, confirming, “Does this perhaps infer that there’s going to be a universe being launched of Warrior Nun, which could expand into films and TV series following characters that we already know? The answer to that question is yes. And there will be more details in the future.”

Created by Simon Barry, the “Warrior Nun” series centers around a 19-year-old woman played by Alba Baptista. After waking up in a morgue with a divine artifact embedded in her back, she discovers that she is now part of an ancient order tasked with fighting demons on Earth. However, powerful forces from both heaven and hell are determined to find and control her.

Aside from Baptista, the series also features a talented ensemble cast including Christina Tonteri-Young, Lorena Andrea, Toya Turner (Season 1), Tristan Ulloa, Thekla Reuten, Sylvia De Fanti, and William Miller.

The news of “Warrior Nun” returning as a trilogy of movies has brought immense excitement and anticipation among fans. While the details are still sparse, it’s clear that the series will continue to captivate audiences and expand its universe in the future.
