Notably, this year’s nominations mark the first time three rap albums are in contention for Album of the Year. Latin Music Celebrations: Latin GRAMMYs and Shakira’s Triumph

The Latin music scene is also experiencing a surge in recognition. The Latin Recording Academy has announced additional performers for the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, including current nominees Bad Bunny, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, KAROL G, and Jesús Ortiz Paz (Fuerza Regida). Joining them on stage will be Chuwi, Fuerza Regida, and the legendary Marco Antonio Solís.

Earlier this week, Shakira was honored with Billboard’s Global Touring Icon Award, recognizing her as the highest-grossing Latin touring artist by a woman. Her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran stadium tour, launched in April 2024, is projected to consist of 82 shows and generate over $327.4 million in revenue from over 2.5 million tickets sold. “It feels like I am just starting my career,” Shakira shared, expressing gratitude to her fans and team, and emphasizing her dedication to her sons, her music, and the creative process.

Country Music and Beyond: Upcoming Awards and Performances

The Country Music Association and ABC have revealed the initial lineup of performers for The 59th Annual CMA Awards, including BigXthaPlug, Luke Combs, Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, Shaboozey, Zach Top, Tucker Wetmore, Lainey Wilson, and Stephen Wilson Jr. Hosted by Lainey Wilson, the awards show will air on November 19 on ABC and be available the following day on Hulu.

The 2025 Baby2Baby Gala, taking place on November 8, will raise funds for the organization’s work supporting one million children living in poverty. Alicia Keys will present Serena Williams with the “Giving Tree Award,” recognizing her commitment to children’s welfare. Ludacris will perform, and presenters include Ciara, Jessica Alba, Julie Bowen, Kerry Washington, Malin Akerman, and Olivia Munn.
