The police in Nordland ask the population to respect the restrictions that have been put in place, and to take the call to stay indoors.
– Lots of loose objects

– The reason we are doing this is that it is a risk to life and health to move outdoors. There are a lot of loose objects in the center of Bodø, says Fredriksen.
According to the meteorologists, the extreme weather should subside somewhat at 1 p.m., and the police hope and believe it will be possible to open the center at this time.
– We open when we consider it safe to travel in the city centre, says Fredriksen.
– What applies to those who work in the center of Bodø?
– Those who are at work must only stay indoors. When working hours are over, it should hopefully be possible to go out. There will still be a lot of wind throughout the afternoon, but not as extreme as now, says Fredriksen a little after 10.30.
Windows blown by the wind
Earlier on Thursday morning, the police asked the residents of Bodø to stay away from Radisson Blu. The reason is that several windows on Top 13 – the top floor – have been blown away by the wind.

The area around the hotel is cordoned off and there is a risk that more could be blown away by the wind.
The breakwater in Bodø is also now closed, according to the police.
The police are now blocking off the entire center of Bodø.
AN reporter Christian A. Unosen was out in the center just before the police announced that the center was being cordoned off. He could then say that they had already cordoned off the area from quarter 99 up to and including Stormen Konserthus.
