The official list of Covid-19 symptoms has been expanded by the NHS in England to include nine additional signs of a coronavirus infection.
In the updated guidelines of the UK Health Security Agency symptoms are now listed, including sore throat, muscle aches, and diarrhea.
The initial signs of Covid-19 infection recognized in the UK were more limited than in other countries. It involved three symptoms:
- fever
- continuous cough
- loss of sense of smell or taste
But now the English list of symptoms contains nine symptoms or complaints:
- shortness of breath
- tired or exhausted
- painful body
- headache
- a sore throat
- stuffy or runny nose
- loss of appetite
- diarrhea
- feeling sick or being sick
