The advantage of hydroponics technique is that soil is not used in it, so there is no need to worry about plowing the field and making it fertile. Organic nutrients are used in this, so a lot of water is saved in it. It requires only 10% water as compared to traditional farming, as it circulates water.

He is earning about 50 to 60 thousand rupees every month by farming with innovative hydroponic method. He grows crops like Lettuce, Cherry Tomato, Capsicum, Strawberry, Kale, Coriander, Chilli, Peas in his polyhouse and the finished crops are easily sold at good prices in Palampur, Kangra, Dharamshala, Mcleodganj.

Saplings are also prepared for new planting by themselves and then as soon as the saplings are ready, they are planted in the pipes. After this, water supply and all kinds of nutrients are given to the plants through pipes.

He says that if farming is done on a smaller scale with this technique, then lakhs can be earned by transporting it to big cities. That’s why Naveen wants other farmers and youth of Himachal to come forward to join hydroponic farming and for this Naveen is also running training programs.
