Today, there are 5 polling stations in the RA territory for the Russian presidential elections: 2 in Yerevan (1 in the territory of the diplomatic representation, 1 in the air base) and 3 polling stations in Gyumri (in the Consulate General of the Russian Federation and in the 102 military base).
“Early elections were held in Syunik region on March 11-13. 844 people voted: our border guards, military personnel and Russian citizens living and working in Syunik,” Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin told reporters, Sputnik Armenia reports.
He noted that he started today with a high, working mood.
“This is probably one of the most important political events, because a lot depends on the results of these elections for our country and people in this breakthrough period. Of course, here in Armenia, we approached the organization of the vote with full responsibility, in accordance with the legislation and the instructions of the CEC of the Russian Federation,” the ambassador said.
He added that all the necessary organizational and informational steps have been taken so that anyone who wants to fulfill his civic duty can do so in the most comfortable conditions for himself.
The ambassador said that the diplomatic representation is ready if a large number of citizens participate in the voting today. According to him, in cooperation with the relevant departments of RA, they are ready to accept all Russian citizens who want to fulfill their civic duty and will only be happy if the number of voters is large.
“We are all interested in the voting going well, in an orderly manner, without violations, so that everyone feels satisfied after casting their vote,” the ambassador said.
He noted that appropriate security measures were taken for the elections together with the Armenian side, taking into account that the elections are being held in a difficult political period and the number of voters this time may be more than usual. Ambassador Kopirkin also informed that the diplomatic representation has also taken appropriate steps so that Russian citizens living in the regions can also participate in the elections. They were informed in advance about the transportation times.
