No bail; Actress Attack Case | Pulsar Suni | Thrissur Mental Hospital

Thrissur ∙ According to the citation, Pulsar Suni, the first accused in the case of abducting and torturing the actress, was sent to the government mental health center in Thrissur. The hospital authorities informed that Suni, who was in Ernakulam sub-jail, was brought here on Tuesday evening and started treatment.

Pulsar Suni’s bail plea was rejected by the Supreme Court the other day. The bench headed by Justice Ajay Rastogi stated that Pulsar Suni was a direct participant in the crime and hence bail cannot be granted. Suni filed a bail application stating that he is the only accused in the case who is in jail and the trial of the case will be further delayed.

It is reported that Suni’s mental health has deteriorated after the Supreme Court rejected the bail plea. The state government informed the court that the trial would end by the end of this year. The Supreme Court has clarified that if the trial is not over within this time, the bail application can be submitted again.

Pulsar Suni was arrested on February 23, 2017 in the case of assaulting the actress. The Supreme Court granted bail to Martin, the second defendant in the case, considering the delay in completing the trial. Pulsar Suni also approached the court raising the same reason. Pulsar Suni approached the Supreme Court with a bail plea after the High Court rejected the bail plea.
