The once close friendship between the acting stars is history. But it wasn’t just Matthias Schweighöfer who turned away from Til Schweiger, as he now reveals.

For a long time they were considered the dream team of the German acting industry, appearing together in front of the camera for films such as “Keinohrhasen”, “Zweiohrküken” and “Hot Dog”. Matthias Schweighöfer and Til Schweiger also had a close friendship off the set. But that is now a thing of the past, the latter said in the “Hotel Matze” podcast.

The reason for this revelation was the allegations that became public against Schweiger last year. There was talk of a fearful working atmosphere, alcohol abuse and physical violence against employees during the filming of “Manta, Manta – Second Part”. In a “Stern” interview, the 60-year-old then admitted his misconduct and an alcohol problem.

In his podcast, Matze Hielscher wanted to know from the actor whether someone had terminated his friendship because of this. “Not canceled that they said, ‘Til, I don’t want to be friends with you anymore.’ “But then they just disappeared,” replied Schweiger and confessed: “Yes, I’ve had that many times. So from people I really wouldn’t have thought that would happen.”

Til Schweiger disappointed with Fahri Yardim

In the past year, we were able to closely observe “who reported and who did not report. Most of them reported,” the 60-year-old continued. Schweighöfer was not there. However, that didn’t surprise him, because “I haven’t had any contact with Matthias for years. And we were once very, very, very close. He was like a little brother to me,” reveals Schweiger.

However, from the moment the 43-year-old stood on his own two feet, he “never heard from him again.” Still, Schweiger said, he would have been happy to be contacted during these difficult times. However, he was disappointed with another colleague: Fahri Yardim.

The film star admits that he was “moved” by the fact that his former “Tatort” co-star no longer contacted him. “I took him with me everywhere and he always said: ‘Without you I would still be playing a greengrocer. I have so much to thank you for.’ And then all of a sudden he was gone.”
