For the first time, two people will win in the final of “GNTM”. Heidi Klum herself provides the theme song again. The cover song is significantly older than the model mom’s candidates.

Berlin.

Heidi Klum will be chasing male models down the catwalk for the first time in the new season of her casting show “Germany’s Next Top Model” (GNTM). The 19th round of the casting format begins this Thursday (8:15 p.m.) on ProSieben. For example, 30-year-old Niklas from Norderstedt is there. He was discovered by “model mom” Klum herself, as ProSieben announced before the broadcast. This happened on a plane where Niklas worked as cabin boss.

According to information, more than 10,000 men and women followed Heidi Klum’s call and came to an open casting in Berlin. They all dream of becoming “Germany’s Next Top Model”. Klum decides who will take part: “I listen very much to my gut feeling. The people I choose have to have a certain magic – that’s important to me,” Klum is quoted as saying by the broadcaster. Fabienne (20) from Solingen stands out, among other things, because of her very long legs: “I measured them when I was 15 years old. They were 110 centimeters.”

For the first time there will be two winners at the end of a GNTM season – a man and a woman. Both will receive a prize of 100,000 euros and will be featured on the cover of the fashion magazine “Harper’s Bazaar”.

This year too, Klum invited professional support to every episode. Guest jurors include: model and actress Elizabeth Hurley, British actress Joan Collins, designers Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Cowan, Kévin Germanier and Kilian Kerner, star photographers Rankin, Christian Anwander and Yu Tsai as well as the supermodels Jourdan Dunn, Winnie Harlow and Jon Kortajarena.

Like last year, Heidi Klum sang the season’s title song herself: this time it’s called “Sunglasses at Night”, produced by the Dutch star DJ Tiësto. It’s a cover: Canadian pop musician Corey Hart scored a new wave hit with it in 1984. The song later became a classic in commercials and video games (“Grand Theft Auto: Vice City”). (dpa)
