Nubia Z60 Ultra: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, IP68, and 120 Hz OLED Display

Nubia, the sub-brand of ZTE, has officially launched the Z60 Ultra in its home country. This flagship phone is based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and offers a clean screen with a camera and fingerprint sensor under the screen. It is also the company’s first phone to support the IP68 standard.

The screen is based on a 6.8-inch BOE Q9+ OLED panel with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Its brightness reaches up to 1,500 nits, and the touch sampling rate is 1,200 Hz. There is also 100% support for the DCI-P3 color space.

On the back, the main camera is equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX800 sensor, with a focal length of 18 mm, flanked by a wide-angle camera with an OmniVision OV50E sensor with a focal length of 35 mm, and a periscope camera with a OV64B sensor from 64 megapixel OmniVision, 85 mm focal length and 3x optical zoom. All three cameras are equipped with an optical image stabilizer and support video recording in 4K resolution at a rate of up to 120 frames/second. The front camera, which as mentioned is under the screen, is equipped with a 12-megapixel sensor.

The battery with which the Z60 Ultra is equipped is relatively large for the market and offers a working volume of 6,000 mAh and with wired charging at a maximum power of 80 watts. Wireless charging is not supported. The operating system is Android 14 on top of the My OS 14 interface and there is support for WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and dual-frequency GPS.

It is offered in a variety of memory capacities: 12/256 GB for about $600, 16/512 GB for about $660, 16/1,204 GB for about $740, and 24/1,024 GB for of about 840 dollars. There is a uniquely designed version for collectors, the Nubia Z60 Ultra Starry Night Collector’s Edition with 16/512 GB that costs about $700.
