Founded in 2012 by doctors from Aleppo in response to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Syria, the Independent Doctors Association (IDA) has emerged as a leading provider of medical and humanitarian assistance. IDA syria currently serves as the primary healthcare provider in the Northern Aleppo region of Syria, reaching approximately 1.2 million individuals – encompassing 500,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) and 700,000 members of host communities. This extensive reach is facilitated through a network of 20 healthcare facilities and a range of targeted health and nutrition projects. IDA has expanded its reach to over 1.7 million individuals since its inception.

Accomplished candidates undergo rigorous training covering essential health topics, including nutrition, infectious diseases, and psychological support.
CHWs conduct regular home visits – averaging 7-8 homes per day,five days a week – providing essential services,referrals,and follow-up care. They also contribute to ongoing needs assessments and participate in public awareness campaigns,including those focused on infection control measures to combat the ongoing threat of COVID-19.
