Nvidia DLSS 4.5 Boosts Gaming Performance with Dynamic Frame Generation

Nvidia’s latest advancements in graphics technology, unveiled at CES 2026, focus heavily on artificial intelligence and its applications beyond robotics and autonomous vehicles. While new gaming hardware was absent from the keynote, the company announced significant upgrades to its Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology, promising substantial performance gains for PC gamers.

DLSS 4.5: More Frames, Sharper Images
The centerpiece of Nvidia’s gaming announcements is DLSS 4.5, a major iteration of its upscaling and optimization technology. This version introduces dynamic multi-frame generation, expanding the system’s ability to create additional frames to increase perceived frame rates. According to a company release, DLSS 4.5 moves from generating up to four frames per rendered frame to a maximum of six, dynamically adjusting the ratio to match a monitor’s refresh rate and maintain optimal latency.
This technology works by extrapolating frames, effectively boosting frame rates and resolution. However, a key limitation is that dynamic multi-frame generation is currently exclusive to systems equipped with RTX 50 series graphics cards. The Asus ROG G16 was specifically cited as a compatible system.
Beyond frame generation, DLSS 4.5 also features an upgraded transformer model for super-resolution upscaling. This new model aims to reduce visual artifacts like ghosting, improve antialiasing, and enhance overall image clarity. Importantly, this improved super-resolution functionality is compatible with all RTX graphics cards, and further enhances image quality when paired with the latest Blackwell cards.
RTX Remix Gains “Remix Logic” for Enhanced Modding
Nvidia’s RTX Remix platform, which allows users to mod games with AI-generated assets, is also receiving a significant update. The new feature, dubbed Remix Logic, allows games to intelligently determine which assets to use based on in-game events. As one analyst noted, this means a game could dynamically adjust weather effects or particle behavior, creating a more immersive and reactive experience.
G-Sync Updates: Ambient Adaptive Technology and Pulsar Availability
The company also previewed Ambient Adaptive Technology (AAT) for G-Sync-capable monitors. AAT automatically adjusts color temperature and brightness based on surrounding environmental conditions, requiring a light sensor – a feature more common on laptops than desktop displays.
Furthermore, Nvidia announced that G-Sync Pulsar monitors, initially launched in September 2024, will soon be available for purchase. Pulsar technology is designed to improve clarity in fast-paced games on high refresh-rate monitors.
