What’s driving the need for increased funding for children’s hospitals? traditional funding sources are becoming less reliable as pediatric care grows more complex, creating critical gaps that unrestricted philanthropy must now fill to provide lifesaving equipment, research, and family support programs.
Instead of traditional fireworks, a fleet of 300 synchronized drones will take to the skies above the Greenpoint waterfront at 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2024, staging a 12-minute light show. The event, presented by Marriott Bonvoy and produced in partnership with Children’s Miracle Network, blends art with a powerful civic message.
The aerial display will feature glowing animations-a children’s hospital, a family, the children’s Miracle Network’s iconic balloon logo, and a series of storytelling visuals visible from blocks away. At the heart of the presentation is CMN’s “balloon Signal of Support,” a playful take on the famous bat signal.
The organization is also spotlighting the stories of two “Children’s Champions”: Coale, a 6-year-old living with brittle bone disease, and Arielle, a teenager who remarkably survived a severe spinal injury. Their experiences powerfully illustrate the transformative impact of specialized pediatric care.
