Chennai: AIADMK coordinators OBS and EPS have not yet reached a consensus, with supporters on both sides engaged in a bitter confrontation.

Meanwhile, senior party leaders, including Thambidurai and KA Shenkotayan, have been in constant talks with them.

AIADMK executive committee and general body meeting is scheduled to be held on the 23rd in Vanakaram, Chennai. A consultative meeting was held at the party headquarters in Chennai on the 14th with the participation of district secretaries and party chief executives on the resolutions to be passed at the meeting.

Most of the participants insisted that the party should have a single leadership. Unexpectedly, the OBS caused a great deal of controversy and controversy among its supporters.

Following this, OBS and EPS have been holding consultations with their supporters since last 14th. On the fifth day yesterday, OBS and EPS at Raja Annamalaipuram Greenway in Chennai held consultations with supporters in their homes.

Speaking to reporters a few days ago, OBS said that the election was held recently and the coordinator and deputy coordinators have been selected. In this context, single leadership is unnecessary. MGR should set up a high-level committee of 14 people who worked with them during Jayalalithaa’s tenure. The position of implementing only the decisions taken by the committee should be that of the party’s coordinator and co-coordinators, ”he said. However, the EPS did not disclose its position to the public.

In this context, the party’s senior leader Thambidurai met with the OBS and EPS the day before yesterday and held consultations. It seems that no conclusion has been reached.

Following this, KA Senkottayan, the senior leader of the MGR era, entered into a compromise between the two. He first met Palanisamy yesterday and continued his talks with Panneerselvam. After that she met Palanisamy again.

Party executives said: “The OPS is committed to having a double leadership under a 14-member high-level committee. But EPS is adamant on single leadership. Both are firm in their position.

That is why in the 5 days of negotiations, a smooth solution has not been reached. It is said that the brother regretted that he had compromised and the two were not at peace. ”

Meanwhile, the final consultation meeting on the preparation of resolutions to be passed in the General Assembly was held at the party headquarters yesterday. OBS attended the meeting and provided advice.

When EPS supporter T. Jayakumar came to the meeting, OPS supporters chanted slogans against him. EPS supporters also chanted against it. This caused a great stir in the party office premises.

Meanwhile, pro-OPS women’s groups attacked Jayakumar’s supporter Perambur Marimuthu. In which he suffered a facial injury. Arguments and pushbacks ensued between the two sides.

At the meeting, more than 13 resolutions were reportedly drafted, including the cancellation of the NEET exam, the federal government’s decision not to allow the construction of the Megathattu Dam across the Cauvery, and the DMK’s condemnation of the law and order situation in the DMK regime, as well as a call to prevent police deaths.

C. Ponnaiyan, who came out after the meeting, said, “The meeting ended smoothly. The issue of dual leadership was not discussed during the drafting of the resolution. ”
