Al-Marsad newspaper: Dr. Alexander Yevdokimov, a neurologist, revealed that dorsopathy (osteochondrosis) increases the risk of stroke by more than 30%.

He explained – according to URA.RU Agency – that dorsopathy and problems in the skeleton and connective tissue increase the risk of stroke by more than 30 percent.

He added, “The term osteochondrosis is currently rarely used in diagnosing the disease, and the term dorsopathy is used instead, but with that, chronic cervical spine problems increase the risk of stroke.”

He continued, “Stress may be a cause of back pain, because it occurs through muscle contraction, and there is a strong muscle spasm, and blood flow suffers from it a lot. This creates causes for severe problems in the cerebral circulation.”

Yevdokimov advised not to delay the treatment of dorsopathy, because after the age of 45 the risk of a person having a stroke increases.
