BNP Vice Chairman Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed said that it is not a secret about the pictures and news of cricketer Shakib Al Hasan joining BNM in the media. Offered me, I didn’t accept. Shakib Al Hasan is the pride of the country, he could not do anything here, later joined Awami League.

He said, I told those who contacted me on behalf of the government that it is not possible to change the party in 32 years of political life. I want to retire from politics. I was repeatedly offered by some of the military on orders from the top level of the government. Some retired members of the military brought Shakib Al Hasan to me. I said then, you are a world class player. It is up to you whether you will do politics or not. Shakib has made his decision. Former information minister before the election.
