“It’s not that it’s strange, but if they hadn’t told me that it’s Archangel, I wouldn’t have guessed,” said Nashy López Rivera, observing the sculpture with a curious smile.

The statue, however, has not been universally welcomed. One passerby bluntly stated, “They told me that, I was dumb. I thought it was someone ‘whatever’ there.”
However,others see the statue as a positive and innovative move.A bearded man, identifying himself as David, emphasized, “I consider Arcángel to be an innovative guy, we can’t be petty about the way he gets involved with the municipality. Unlike many other artists, there is a cultural sense here, we all know it’s about business, marketing. And it’s cool. I like it. It’s something different. We can’t complain about the trends of the moment. This is culture,it’s historical data and things that haven’t been done before,even if it doesn’t have a flag or say ‘Puerto Rico’,it’s still culture.”

Some residents of San Juan have expressed concerns about the statue’s impact on the aesthetics of the historic Old City. “I have nothing against him, but I understand that in Puerto Rico there are figures who deserve that more,” shared a woman named Eva, a native of Las Piedras. “There have been people who have contributed more to society. that is my opinion, it is indeed nothing against him, but there are other celebrities and figures that could stand out.”
The statue’s future remains uncertain. As Nashy López rivera continued to contemplate the golden figure, she offered a final assessment: “If it doesn’t look like it [Arcángel], when you find out that he is cool, it’s something different. But next time, let him be similar.”
