Last Thursday, April 4th, was special for Fernando Rocha and his wife, Sónia, who renewed their wedding vows.
On Instagram, the comedian made a point of highlighting this emotional moment. “Yesterday [quinta-feira, dia 4], Sónia and I celebrated 25 years of marriage. It was on the 4th of April 99, in the church of São Pedro da Cova, that, in the middle of our wedding, and while the priest was celebrating, I suddenly couldn’t hear anything, for me, the world went silent, I stayed there, looking at her and contemplating her, she was beautiful, her aura shone so much that she looked like a goddess. And, at that moment, I made two promises: I swore to God and to the depths of myself that my mission in life, from that moment on, was to build a family with her and make her a happy goddess”, began by writing Fernando Rocha, in the caption of a series of images of the vow renewal.
“During these 25 years, we laughed, cried, traveled, grew and evolved, always together, side by side, so many things happened, that if we wanted to write a book, it wouldn’t be a book, it would be a series. But if we were writing a book, explaining how our marriage lasted all these years, I had so little to say, it couldn’t be a book, it couldn’t be a page, not even a line, five words were enough: love, respect, trust , admiration and tolerance”, he added.
For Fernando Rocha, “these five pillars have kept the marriage going all this time.” “We built a family, our children are there as proof, so a promise is paid. Of course, in the midst of all this, there is the luck factor and my greatest luck was to have found you in life, you gave me two beautiful, intelligent, educated children with values (they take after their mother, thank God). For the sake of the family, they always took a backseat”, he pointed out.
“Often, on days when we had just finished arguing (yes, because arguing is also part of our 25 years), she would go to bed first and, when I got to the room, she would already be asleep. angry with me, but even so, I always put my pajamas on top of the heater so I could wear them warm. Soninha, there are many ways to declare poems and in that simple gesture you declared to me a beautiful poem, which was well expressed: love, respect, trust, admiration and tolerance”, he recalled, also underlining: “With you I learned that the most beautiful poems are not the ones that are written, but rather the ones that are made and you, over all these years, You were and are a great poet.”
“25 years later, I look at you and I see the same golden glow you had that day. You shine, you are the light that illuminates our path and, for me, we will go on this path together for another 25 years or however long we have left, because, For me, there is still a long way to go to fulfill the second promise, I still need to provide you with many happy moments, until the last day of my life. So that, with my last breath, I can say: mission accomplished. Thank you for loving me like this, thank you for taking care of me. I love you, until this all blows up!”, he finished.
Remember that Fernando Rocha and Sónia Rocha have two children: Diogo, 24 years old, and Catarina, 19.
